Naive of all things carnal, Silas is desperate to experience the ways the flesh, a fascination born from espying his nurse maid in congress with Father Ambrose at an early age; to fornicate before he devotes his life to the seminary and celibacy thereafter.

How fortunate then to be in the company of the libidinous residents of the Celestine abbey. What follows is Silas’ sexual awakening to all things lascivious, the Celestine monks guiding his hand towards every delightful dalliance and deed. With maids, naughty convent Sisters, and with his fellow brotherhood, he will lose himself to pleasure immeasurable and to a different form of enlightenment altogether.

This ribald tale of naughty nuns and mischievous monks is the epitome of libertine literature, penned anonymously in 1741 and translated by George Carrington in 1897, The Life and Adventures of Father Silas is historical erotica at its deliciously finest.
